Oxygen Mag

Handpicked stories for people who care about clean air.

Hey there,
It’s Amrit. As you know, Oxygen Mag is a weekly magazine with handpicked stories for people who care about clean air.
Today, we’re joined by Sarisha Perumal, an air quality scientist based in Pretoria, South Africa. In this issue, Sarisha has selected some important stories about air pollution in South Africa.
Why focus on South Africa? I invited Sarisha because we don’t hear much about South Africa in the global air quality discussions and social media, and I wanted to help change that. Also because South Africa’s air quality data isn’t on OpenAQ, our beloved Smokey hasn’t been able to bring you air quality reports from there! (Update: A few days ago, Dolugen added a network of air quality monitors from Richard’s Bay, a town in South Africa, to OpenAQ!)

Handpicked Stories For You 🙌
Sarisha Perumal is an air quality specialist asking big (and small) questions about air pollution, climate change and human health in South Africa. She consults for industry and government entities on air quality matters.

🔥 My favorite part of Oxygen Mag is reading your replies. That’s my oxygen, if you will. If you’re reading these words right now, please hit “reply” and say hello, or introduce yourself, or tell me what book you’re working on right now, or tell me how I can be of any help to you. As always, I reply to every message.
