❤ It’s Amrit. Today Oxygen Mag turns 21. I can’t believe it’s been 21 issues already. I love taking the time to curate these with you every week. The next two issues are going to be about South Africa and the science of low-cost monitors.  Stay tuned for those.
I’ve eluded to the secret project I’ve been working on while nestled away in the Kathmandu valley over the past couple months. Today it’s time to give you a peek behind the curtain. Well, I’m writing a book about air pollution. There, I said it. Now you know.
It’s called Air Pollution Sucks. And, as I write this book, I would love it if you’d be a part of this journey with me. More details if you scroll down to the bottom.

Oh I almost forgot - Smokey has been spending his evenings and weekends learning how to say “air pollution” in new languages. So far, Smokey has picked up Hindi and Nepali. <– Click to see how to get worldwide air quality data in these languages! More languages coming soon!

A Note About "Air Pollution Sucks" The Book
Why? I am writing the book that I wish I had when I moved from Minneapolis to New Delhi and found myself in some of the worst air quality in the world back in 2015. After taking clean air for granted for my whole life, I realized that in much of the world: breathing kills.
Just as Smokey democratizes air quality data in plain english. Through this book, I want to convey that even though air pollution sucks, learning about it doesn’t have to. This book is for primarily for students, parents, science journalists, and everyday people living in areas where air quality is a problem!
This book will be available around the world through Amazon in both digital and paperback editions. But before we get there, I want to make sure that this is the best book ever written about air pollution in plain english. This is where I need your help:
(1) Are you an air quality scientist or professor? Would you be so kind as to “peer review” this book to ensure scientific accuracy? It’s around 100-150 pages.
(2) Everyone else - May I reach out to you via e-mail if I need to get your thoughts on a section of the book? Please hit ’reply’ and let me know. I’d love for you to be a part of this journey with me. <3
Air Pollution Sucks: Coming soon to, bookstores, thrift shops and garage sales near you. Just kidding. Only Amazon! :)
Until next week,
